2002

  • GlaxoSmithKline, s.r.o. establishes the Elpida Endowment Fund .

  • A project is emerging Golden Autumn with Elpida . The aim is to involve seniors in active life by organizing joint events, informing them, educating them, and at the same time creating a community of people who will become their background and support.

  • Internet School for the Elderly participates in the Tereza project "Internet connects generations" . In ten selected primary and secondary schools, students trained 470 seniors. We are publishing educational scripts Internet School for Seniors.

  • The golden line becomes a helpline and crisis intervention . Compared to 2003, there was a rapid increase in the number of calls in 2004.   • A very important event in February 2006 with a society-wide impact was undoubtedly the participation of the NFE and the Golden Line in the campaign "No to Violence!" .

  • Elpida Golden Sheets transformed into a magazine Elán Plus . With the name, the format and concept of the magazine changed. The periodicity of the magazine was set as a bi-monthly magazine with an online version to be published every month.

2007

  • The project, which was previously under the umbrella of the Elpida Foundation, will be transferred in October to the newly the newly established charitable company Elpida plus, o.p.s . In the Nursery we start teaching languages and for graduates we offer continuing courses connected with a relaxing stay in nature.

  • Senior Citizen Line becomes a registered social service under Section 55 of the Act - telephone crisis assistance. In addition to the founder, the Municipality also contributes to the financing of the helpline of the City of Prague. The line celebrates its five-year anniversary this autumn.

  • In December, we publish the first issue of Vital plus, a quarterly magazine that helps seniors.

2008

  • 10 186 seniors called the Hotline. The issues they contact the Line with are already for several years: loneliness, isolation, loss of a loved one.

  • The head of the Senior Citizens' Line is Alena Krásná. The number of callers to whom the line helped in a difficult life situation - 28 317 people called.

  • Under the leadership of Jan Bartos Elpida Centre is becoming an open educational and cultural center that offers seniors more and more activities. The number of graduates of our courses is growing steadily, with 3502 in 2011. It is growing interest in language courses and the new cultural programme.

  • Let's talk about old age: leave my grandmother alone! has a long-term character, in 2011 it continues with a benefit concert of the senior choir Elpida, Please The Trees and Jaromír 99.

2012

  • Senior Citizens Line comes up with an awareness campaign "Afraid of forgetting?" about the symptoms of dementia.

  • We are extending the Senior Citizen Line to 365 days a year , every day from 8 am to 8 pm, including weekends and holidays.

  • VITAL magazine is heading to 850 stands across the Czech Republic . With actor Miroslav Krobot we are shooting a promo video for HitHit.cz.

  • Opening of the exhibition of photographs Bet Orten on the Embankment the third year of the Old's Cool Festival . We are shooting the first videos with the knitters of the project Socks from Grandma, we are organizing the first sock-making workshop called Smooth Pivots.

  • Director Jiří Hrabě presents Elpida at PechaKucha Night in Pilsen.

2016

  • We are opening a new branch - ELPIDA POINT - in Madridská Street in Prague 10.

  • Through a series of lectures on migration we want to contribute to a greater understanding of the phenomenon migration.

  • I fourth edition of OLD'S COOL 2016 was worth it . We presented exceptional senior personalities, role models and great life stories, intergenerational projects and inspiring ideas.

2017

  • Elpida celebrates 15 years.

  • In 2017, our Seniors Helpline 800 200 007 staff answered the phone for a total of 35 214 times. Seniors are also assisted by online and email counseling or lectures on memory disorders and cognitive diagnosis.

2018

  • In the framework of OLD´S COOL 2018 we present an exhibition on the beautiful, difficult and intimate theme of Mother and Daughter. We publish OLD'S COOL Magazine which charts Elpida's five years of collaboration with photographer Bet Orten and journalist and stylist Veronika Ruppert. All exhibitions have one thing in common - the main stars are senior men and women.

  • Grandma's socks have a new e-shop ponozkyodbabicky.cz, 203 knitters from all over the Czech Republic, 14 thousand pairs of socks sold, 700 pairs of socks for the homeless in cooperation with the Salvation Army, we organized 6 knitting workshops for the public in Prague, Olomouc and Košice.

2019

  • From the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs we obtained award for outstanding contribution to senior issues in the Czech Republic.

  • It was the second national second national conference on Difference and Repetition - The Phenomenon of Recurrent Crisis in Crisis Relief II.

  • The Elpida Centre has expanded its operations by community programmes funded by the EU funds of the operational programme Prague - growth pole. The year-long programme cultural programmes, workshops, intergenerational meetings, support groups and counselling.

  • We have published a book, We Were Just Passing By, which is a selection of 15 inspiring interviews from VITAL magazine.

  • We founded Botanicula - a small community garden by Port 7. Botanicula includes a relaxation area with with a pétanque area. It was created in collaboration with Elpida and NF Agora 7.

  • A series of Life in the Information Age seminars was created, and we published a special issue of the magazine Vital on misinformation and prepared a campaign Don't take risks.

2020

  • Emerging Elpida to the house - an online educational and cultural programme for the elderly. Clients can now attend their favourite activities from the comfort of their own homes.

  • Together with Transitions we are starting a new three-year project Media and digital education in towns and cities through local organisations and institutions, funded by the EEA and Norway Grants under the Active Citizens Fund.

  • Senior Citizens Line significantly boosts traffic in response to increased caller demand due to the coronavirus epidemic. In cooperation with Scouts, it is also helping with the delivery of supplies and the registration of seniors for vaccinations.

  • During the pandemic, we distributed more than 5,000 free issues of VITAL magazine to care facilities or to lonely seniors through cities and towns and their outreach care services.

  • Individuals and companies have purchased 2,500 pairs of Grandma's Socks, which we distributed to seniors in nursing homes homes. In turn, a total of 380 pairs warmed the feet of the homeless.

  • In cooperation with the O2 Foundation and Seznam.c portal we have launched the Don't Risk! with Jan Rosák . to better equip seniors with simple tools that they can use to recognize themselves, when someone is trying to manipulate them.
