Solution No. 1 - Grandma's socks
Socks are knitted by more than 200 grandmothers from all over the Czech Republic, each with her own style, so every pair is original. On the paper cover you will find the name of the knitter who knitted your socks. Then you can read her story in Elpida's sock gallery.
Grandma's socks give work and the joy of feeling useful to grandmothers, while supporting the running of the Elpida Education and Cultural Centre. So Grandma's socks warm you up twice - on your feet and on your heart. Plus, they help you untangle EVERY tangle in life.

Solution No. 2 - VITAL Magazine
Do you want your parents, grandparents, or even your favourite neighbour who waters your flowers when you're not home, to be inspired all the time?
Thanks to the Grandma's Socks project, Elpida keeps people warm on their feet. Their soul is then taken care of by VITAL, a magazine that is contributed by leading journalists, writers and leaders across the industry. A year's subscription to VITAL costs £276 (that's 0.70 cents a day, or maybe 6 flatwhites).

Solution 3 - Course at the Elpida Centre
Have you bought your (grand)parents a mobile phone, but no longer have the energy to teach them how to use it? Would you like to give them the confidence not to be afraid to travel and help them to get along on the road? Give them a voucher for one of the courses organised by Elpida in its two Prague branches.
The range of activities is wider than wide - in addition to the popular computer and language courses, favourites include a YouTubing workshop, a senior circus withboys from the LaPutyka troupe, creative writing with writer Markéta Lukášková, or the new Life in the Information Age series, which helps seniors navigate the media world. Vouchers can be bought online.
If you like the Elpida organisation, you can support it with even a small donation. For every 50 CZK you give, one person will be able to attend one of the courses. For 100 CZK you will allow one senior citizen who is in a difficult life situation to call the Senior Citizens' Helpline. Elpida means hope in Greek. But it is also the name of an organization that helps seniors become a confident and respected part of society. In the spirit of the motto Old's Cool, Elpida is changing the way people look at old age - it runs the Elpida Educational and Cultural Centre for seniors fromPrague and the Senior Crisis Line, founded the brand Socks from Grandma, publishes the magazine VITAL, and organises the intergenerational Old's Cool festival. In short, she is trying to make Czech seniors lead a full & happy life.
